Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], the operator of the when app. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use when.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be legally able to enter into this agreement where you live.
• You must not have been convicted of a felony, a sex offence, or a violent crime, and you must not be listed on any sex offender register.
• We must not have previously banned you from when.

2. Your account

One account per person. You must complete face verification, which exists to guarantee that every account belongs to one real adult. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you put on your profile and for everything that happens under your account.

3. What you may not do

• Impersonate anyone, or use photos that are not of you.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or discriminate against another user.
• Send sexually explicit content to someone who has not asked for it.
• Use when for commercial solicitation, advertising, escort services, or sex work.
• Solicit money, gifts, or financial information from other users.
• Record, screenshot, or redistribute a video date without the other person's consent.
• Share another user's private information outside the app.
• Scrape the service, or use bots, automation, or reverse engineering against it.
• Create a new account after we have banned you.

4. Video dates

Dates are live and are not recorded by us. Ten minutes is a hard limit. A report button is available for the whole call. Treat the other person as you would in any first meeting, and end the call at any time if you want to.

5. Safety and meeting in person

when does not run criminal background checks on its users. Verification proves that an account belongs to one live adult. It does not prove that someone is safe, honest, or who they claim to be. If you choose to meet someone in person, that decision and its consequences are yours. Meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and arrange your own transport.

6. Reports, suspension, and bans

We review reports and may suspend or permanently ban an account that breaches these terms. Serious breaches result in an immediate permanent ban. A banned account's face template is retained so that the ban cannot be evaded with a new email address or device. If you believe a ban was a mistake, you can appeal through the in-app appeal form.

7. Paid features

• Subscriptions and one-off purchases are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and are billed by them under their terms.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We cannot issue refunds on their behalf.
• We may change prices. A change to an existing subscription takes effect at the next renewal, and we will tell you in advance.
• If we ban your account for breaching these terms, any unused paid balance is forfeited.

8. Your content

Your photos and profile text remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating when. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must retain for safety or legal reasons.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion removes your profile, photos, matches, and personality results. Some records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and changes

when is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted service, a specific number of matches, or that any match will lead anywhere. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Changes to these terms

We will notify you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use when after that date means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
